SWVFA Representative Programs

The SWVFA Representative Programs aim is to assist in enhancing players skill, ability, and confidence, as well as education on the game, whilst continuing to foster a love of the sport and playing for maximum enjoyment.

To be eligible for a place in this program, players must be registered and play with their local SWVFA club. The details of the 2023 program, including trial dates, etc will be updated as they are finalized and communicated through all member clubs.

There are many benefits of joining our Representative Squads, such as the obvious opportunity to test your skills and ability, but additionally our program typically offers:

  • Additional Training & Skill Development
  • Inter-Association Games
  • Boys & Girls FC Tournament
  • CLFA Country Championships Tournament
  • Football Victoria "Laws of the Game" Certification - Equipping players with a comprehensive understanding of the rules

Coach Development

Coach development is an extremely important part of our program. Not only are we training and developing the players, we are also developing our coaches.

To assist the development of our players and programs, former South West Academy of Sport coach Tim White supports our Rep Squad coaches with training programs and provides on-site support throughout the program.

In addition, our coaches are supported to attend formal coach training programs throughout the year, to improve their knowledge and ability to provide the best opportunity for our developing players.

Country Championships

Country Championships is Victoria's premier regional tournament, showcasing the states 10 regional associations. After being hosted in Geelong in 2022, we await confirmation of the event location for 2023 Country Championships for our Representative Squads.

We will continue to keep you informed of forthcoming updates, but due to the large scale of this tournament it is recommended you book your accommodation as soon as possible.

We look forward to publishing more details around opportunities for the 2023 program and welcome your feedback as we continue to enhance opportunities for player development.

SAVIC Border Invitational Friendly

23rd of April saw our Representative teams play against the Limestone Coast Football Association Representative teams in what was a huge success at Cassadio Park in Mount Gambier. Coaches enjoyed the first opportunity to play under game conditions in the lead up to their prospective Country Championships. We look forward to building toward more football between our two leagues.
